VVV-Venlo is a Dutch football club based in Venlo, the Netherlands, founded on 7 February 1903. The abbreviation VVV stands for ‘Venlose Voetbal Vereniging’. The VVV-Venlo kit consists of a yellow shirt with a black stripe through it, black pants and yellow stockings. In the 70s and 80s the club played in the red and white for several years. The club has played its home games in Stadion De Kraal for a long time. Since March 1972, Stadion De Koel has been the home base for VVV-Venlo. This stadium is literally located in a pit (cool is Venloos dialect for pit) located on the Kaldenkerkerweg, on top of the steep edge in the east of Venlo. The stadium once managed to accommodate 24,500 spectators during the VVV-Ajax match in 1977 (2-2). In 2004, De Koel was thoroughly renovated. Since 2005, the accommodation has gone through life as Seacon Stadium -De Koel-, from 2019 as Covebo Stadium -De Koel.
