Founding

Koninklijke Racing Club Genk (KRC Genk) is a Belgian football club from Genk, which is affiliated with the RBFA with stud number 322, formerly the number of KFC Winterslag. The club, with the club colors blue and white, plays its home games in the Cegeka Arena in Waterschei. The club was formed in 1988 from the merger of Thor Waterschei and KFC Winterslag. Genk is one of the ‘Big Five’ in Belgian football in terms of number of spectators and budget.
