FC Emmen

Founder

FC Emmen is a Dutch football club based in Emmen, the Netherlands, founded on 21 August 1925. It is the only professional football club in the province of Drenthe. The club has been playing professional football since 1985 and then played 33 seasons in a row in the First Division. In the 2017/18 season, the club promoted to the Eredivisie via the play-offs for the first time in the club’s history. On May 20, 2021, FC Emmen dropped back to the First Division after the play-off game against NAC Breda was lost after taking penalties. In 2022, the club immediately promoted back to the Eredivisie.

Emmen’s traditional equipment consists of a red shirt with a vertical wide white stripe in the middle, white trousers and white stockings with red stripes. Home games are finished in stadium De Oude Meerdijk.
